Rugby (BL)

About

Established in 1865, Barts & the London Rugby Football Club (BLRFC) is the oldest sports club in the University. It has a rooted history of being one of the most successful university sports clubs, competing in the United Hospitals Cup, the oldest rugby competition in the world, and BUCS. At BLRFC, we maintain a culture and an attitude on which we pride ourselves, having won both the first and second team United Hospitals Cups last year. We are an all-inclusive club that provides opportunities for players at all levels whether you're at the top of your game or just want to play for fun. If you are interested, please come along to our stall at freshers fayre, contact us via the email below or follow our Instagram.

Taster Session

Join us for a meet and greet curry after the Freshers fayre to meet with current committee members and players. On Monday 26th September there will be a taster session to train with us and meet our coach, Flats.

Basic skills training will be run by senior members to allow new players to develop the skills required to play Rugby. THERE IS NO SELECTION PROCESS. If you want to play rugby at Bart’s and the London, we WILL provide that opportunity, be it in BUCS1 or more of a social rugby environment.

Training

Mondays 19:00-20:30 at East London Rugby Club (Closest tube station is West Ham, a few stops up the district line from Whitechapel)

Equipment - We provide playing kit and equipment.
For training, we ask that you bring a gum shield, rugby boots and generic training kit. However, if you do not have the equipment listed - rest assured - we will be able to source it for the initial sessions.

Commitment levels required - Attendance at training sessions (Monday Nights) and Wednesday games is compulsory. Attendance at Socials is strongly encouraged but is, of course, optional.
