Archery… a sport that’s been around for a long time, ever watched a film like Lord of the Rings and think, Legolas is pretty awesome with that bow and arrow, that looks really cool! Well come and give QM Archery Club (QMAC) a go, as we cater for all of the different levels of archery. From “how do I hold this bow” to “Bullseye every time!”
QM Archery Club (QMAC) aims to have you try out this dangerous sport you always wanted to try in a safe and friendly environment. We will provide you with all of the equipment you need and will help you improve yourself to become the next Green Arrow, Robin Hood or Katniss Everdeen.

How to get involved
- Follow our Instagram, and most importantly join our Whatsapp welcome chat.
- Attend our taster sessions.
- Purchase your subs online or in person at the SU hub.
- Fill out the AGB membership form linked on the whatsapp chat.
- Enjoy! Take part in our sessions, socials, and compete in competitions.

Taster Sessions
See times below for semester A 2026 free taster/trial sessions!
Week 1
- Monday 21st September | 2pm-5pm
- Tuesday 22nd September | 9am-12pm
- Friday 25th September | 9am-12pm
Week 2
- Monday 28th September | 2pm-5pm
- Tuesday 29th September | 9am-12pm
- Friday 2nd October | 9am-11am
Prior experience is NOT needed, we will teach you from scratch.
Taster sessions will consist of fun and friendly shooting with equipment and coaching provided.
Dress code
- Long non-billowy sleeves
- Tie back long hair
- Remove any loose jewellery
- Non-slip closed-toe shoes
- No headphones or airpods
Training/Sessions
Mondays 2pm - 5pm
Tuesdays 9am - 12pm
Fridays 9am to 11am
(Enter through Qmotion entrance and ask thr Qmotion desk to let you into the sportshall - enter when you hear "SAFE TO COLLECT" is called).
To maximise your shooting time, arrive early and stay till the end of the sessions to assist in setting and packing up!
The membership includes all equipment needed (unless you want to use your own). This includes bows (left and right handed), arrows, protective equipment and everything else you may need including a full academic year of sessions!
Competitions
Sign-up sheets for all competitions are released closer to the time.
QMAC has some coaches who are hoping to offer beginner's courses to smaller groups. Please check our social media or email us for more info. (Whatsapp, Instagram, TikTok) All novices will receive some level of help, so don't worry!
