Barts and The London Alpine Club is a group for climbers, hikers and anyone that has an appreciation of the outdoors. We aim to provide people of all abilities the chance to join us for an outdoor adventure.
We would love to see you on our monthly escapes out into the mountains. We spend the weekend at an alpine hut and fill the days with outdoor activities and the evenings with good food and games.
We also have regular climbing and bouldering sessions at Mile End Climbing Wall and other London locations.
We are an incredibly friendly and outgoing community of students and alumni; if there's something you are keen to try then just ask our club members!

Signing up to a BLAC trip confirms you are over 18, will come equipped as required and have read and understood that: The Barts and the London Alpine Club (BLAC) recognises that mountaineering, climbing and mountain walking are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement. BLAC reserves the right to refuse people who put their own, and others' lives at risk by not coming correctly equipped. If you have any medical conditions that may affect you on the hill, it is your responsibility to make these known to your hike leader at the beginning of the trip. If you take part in any activities that are not on the society agenda you do so at your own risk and BLAC and SU will not accept liability for any injuries or accidents occurring.
Standard Membership is £20 and gains you access to our weekend trips as you'll be covered for third party and some personal insurance whilst on our trips by BMC (British Mountaineering Council) membership. You'll also have discounts with Bethwall and Mile End.
"I love Alpine" membership entitles you to the standard membership + £5 discount on every weekend trip with us (does not apply to Fresher's trip which is discounted for everyone).
