We are looking for proactive, sociable people to join our front of house Bar Staff team. Our department is the heart of QMSU’s student events, so our bar staff serve customers on the bar, floor, door, and cloakroom to make all our services and events run smoothly. The right candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive, and able to perform under pressure, whether that is during a lunch rush or our infamous Hail Mary club nights. As the face of our venues and events, candidates must be trustworthy, empathetic, and approachable. Though most shifts are completed Monday to Friday, staff are expected to work at least one 3am finish (usually Wednesday or Friday) per week and provide occasional weekend availability when required. Our staff are required to work Hail Mary/Final Whistle monthly.

Please note: this role will start in full in May 2024, with an expectation to complete paid training during Semester 3. Only currently enrolled Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) students who will be enrolled at QMUL in the 2024-2025 academic year can apply for this role. Please read the job description below carefully to ensure you meet the requirements before applying.
