This week we’re shining our Societies Spotlight on QM Yoga Society! Despite being a relatively new society – affiliated in January 2016 – they’ve found their feet in this academic year, by working hard and always making sure there’s something for everyone to get stuck into. They currently have over 100 members, and are open to complete beginners to the more experienced yogi! They run weekly classes on a Wednesday afternoon, which are free for all members and are taught by the President of the society, who is a qualified yoga instructor. QM Yoga society also lead workshops that focus on specific areas – like working towards the splits (!) – for £5 a session, and they have a monthly excursion including trips to the OM Yoga Show, Anti-gravity Yoga, and Hot Pod Yoga. Their next trip is to Disco Yoga, the link for which is here. The Society have also collaborated with the QM Vegetarian and Vegan Society, which consisted of a joint yoga session and a social at 90 Degree Melt. To find out more about all the excellent opportunities QM Yoga Society provides – to both ease the stress of daily university life, and to meet and make friends (not to mention the added bonus of getting in some post-Christmas movement…) – pay them a visit at QMSU’s Welcome Fair, happening on the 17th January. They’re holding two Refreshers Taster Sessions, which you can find out more about here and here, and if they do the trick then you have a lovely abroad Yoga Retreat to look forward to in June, focusing on extending practice, becoming mindful through yoga, and enjoying some time relaxing and doing activities on the beach.
Check out their social networking sites here and here.
Thank you so much for all your hard work QM Yoga! We look forward to seeing and hearing about everything you get up to this year and beyond!
