This semester, QMSU Community Sport have been working to begin partnerships with US-based coaching companies, giving students another fantastic opportunity to develop coaching skills and gain paid employment both during the summer holidays and post-graduation.
Following our recent assessment day for football coaches, we also have opportunities for students to get involved in coaching other sports. The US Sports Institute (USSI) are one of the largest sports camp providers in the USA and are looking for energetic, outgoing students to coach their summer multi-sports programmes.
This is a great opportunity for any students interested in sport, working abroad or just having an amazing summer experience! Spending a summer with USSI will not only improve your coaching knowledge and introduce you to the American culture, but you will also make great friends and even better memories. Several USSI summer-camp staff go out year after year because they enjoy it so much!
Representatives of USSI have kindly agreed to hold an information session for students on the QMSU campus to allow students to find out more about what's on offer and how to get involved. The details of this are as follows:
- Date: Thursday 14th January 2016
- Time: 5-7pm
- Location: Bancroft Building Room 3.40, Mile End
- Registration: Please complete this contact form to confirm your attendance for the evening
More information about USSI, including a job description and what they offer can be found in this document or at http://ussportsinstitute.com/jobs-for-overseas-residents/summer-jobs-in-the-us-home.html
This really is a fantastic opportunity for students to spend their summers productively, develop transferable skills and gain paid employment. Any questions or inquries should be directed to Gareth Crewe, Community Sport Coordinator (g.crewe@qmul.ac.uk)
