Black Lives Matter: Resources

Take a look at some resources of how you can help and support those who need it right now, which were kindly compiled by our ACS Society..

CampaignsWellbeing

As a result of the murder of George Floyd in Minnesota on the 25th May 2020, there has been widespread protests across the globe as part of the Black Lives Matter movement. Queen Mary Students’ Union stands in full solidarity with the family, friends and community of George Floyd in Minnesota, along with the countless others who have suffered similar fates - Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and others whose deaths are less well publicised.

As part of this, our African & Caribbean Society (ACS) have compiled a list of resources for fundraisers and petitions to help both those related to the victims, but also for those who are protesting these injustices across the globe. You can also find some other resources, including educational resources. You can find Queen Mary Students' Union's previous statement on Black Lives Matter here, including further resources including books and articles.

We want to thank our ACS society for sending in these resources, which we're sure many students will find useful in this time. If any societies or students have any other ways they think we could be helping or supporting or any other educational material that you think is useful, please don't hesitate to contact us.
