New vending machines to support Campus Fund

Tuesday 20th October will see the addition of four new vending machines to the Learning Café

We are pleased to announce that Tuesday 20th October will see the addition of four new vending machines to the Learning Café. A range of snacks and drinks will be served, including premium bean, ethically sourced and responsibly produced coffee from Rwanda. There will be free tastings and samples on Tuesday, 10 am until 2 pm in the Learning Café (found in the Library), and we would love to have your feedback and suggestions.

These state of the art machines will also help raise money for the Campus Community Fund; which amongst other things supports cultural and learning events, workshops designed to promote students’ employability and projects intended to improve the QMUL student experience. Applications may be made by individual students, individual members of QMUL staff, QMUL departments, QMSU societies or clubs, and QMSU staff.

The four vending machines comprise of:

·         A coffee machine

·         A ‘healthy eating’ machine (flapjacks, dried fruit, nuts)

·         A snack machine (sweet snacks)

·         A can and bottle machine (carbonated drinks including diet options)

Mike Wojcik, CEO of Queen Mary Students’ Union, commented:

“This has been a long-standing project that I believe will really benefit the students of QMUL, and I am happy to see it finally being realised. The emphasis on healthy options and ethical sourcing forms part of our mission to improve students’ lives, as does the valuable contribution it will make to our Campus Community Fund, which was set up in 2010 to benefit and support our student body.”
