QM Angel’s are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Cheer coach to run the training sessions for the all-girl cheerleading team for the upcoming academic year. The club currently competes at national competitions and aims to hit zero at each competition. The successful applicant will be experienced with both the United and IASF scoring systems, as well as demonstrating experience of choreographing routines and coaching large groups of athletes.
Required Qualifications and Certifications
• Minimum Level 1 Cheerleading
• First Aid Certificate
• Relevant Insurance
Training Days
X3 hours a week required; Coach will also be required to attend the 3 competitions QM Angel’s compete in each year. Specific dates TBC.
Job Description
• Plan and lead training sessions to a group of mixed ability members with diverse backgrounds and experience of the sport
• Build confidence of returning members and keep retention rates up
• Provide coaching expertise to improve the quality and standard of training
• Be a consistently encouraging and motivating presence within the club
• Develop the club to be more competitive and win as many competitions as possible
• Be passionate about the sport and building an inclusive and fun environment for members
• Have an understanding of higher education sport
• Focus on improving members technique to prevent injury
• Work with the club committee to achieve the clubs aims and objectives for this year
• Display good coaching conduct in line with Queen Mary Student's Union Code of Conduct
