QM Hockey Women’s 2nd Team is looking for an enthusiastic and talented coach to run the training sessions for the upcoming academic year. The club currently competes in BUCS Southeastern Tier 2 and are looking to win the league and merger cup whilst simultaneously attracting new members and facilitating an inclusive environment. The successful applicant will have experience delivering Hockey coaching sessions to a large group of athletes with varying experience levels and athletes with varying experience levels and be able to adapt to the teams needs and qualities.
Required Qualifications and Certifications
• Relevant Coaching Qualification
• First Aid Certificate
• Relevant Insurance
Training Days
Mondays, 19:00-20:30 at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, E20 3AD, Pitch 2.
Job Description
• Plan and lead training sessions to a group of mixed ability members with diverse backgrounds and experience of the sport
• Build confidence of returning members and keep retention rates up
• Provide coaching expertise to improve the quality and standard of training
• Be a consistently encouraging and motivating presence within the club
• Be prepared to run sessions, communicating effectively between captains and players
• Recognising the strengths and weaknesses of the team and adjusting sessions accordingly
• Develop the club to be more competitive and win as many competitions as possible
• Be passionate about the sport and building an inclusive and fun environment for members
• Have an understanding of higher education sport
• Focus on improving members technique to prevent injury
• Work with the club committee to achieve the clubs aims and objectives for this year
• Display good coaching conduct in line with Queen Mary Student's Union Code of Conduct
