About the role:

The William Harvey Institute Representative will gather feedback from and represent students who are studying within the William Harvey Institute at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. You’ll work as part of the Education Zone, supporting the Vice President Barts and The London and encouraging students to participate and engage in the Students’ Union.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Vice President Barts and The London and encourage students to participate and engage in the Students’ Union.
  • Engage with and lobby Queen Mary University of London and other relevant organisations to achieve improvements for William Harvey Institute students
  • Attend relevant meetings within the Students’ Union and the university (see list of compulsory meetings below)
  • Seek feedback from William Harvey Institute students in order accurately to represent their interests
  • Where appropriate, support the Executive Committee in their duties and responsibilities and seek support from them with respect to their own duties and responsibilities
  • Cooperate and coordinate with other SMD Representatives where appropriate
  • Liaise with members of student groups relevant to their role
  • Provide regular updates on your work to the students you represent

 

Meetings that I attend:
  • Student Council (2 hour meeting, five times a year
  • BLSA Board (2 hour meeting, six times a year)
