Societies Officer (BL)

Varvara Evgeniou

Hello, I’m Varvara and I am the BL Societies Officer. I represent the interests of all societies across the BL campus and I am the voice of the BL society and student group members. I collaborate with the ME Societies Officer, as well as the elected Societies’ Board. My responsibilities include approving Societies’ funding, encouraging the creation of new societies, as well as aiding the communication between the Students’ Union and the BL societies and student groups. My plans for this year vary and revolve around better organisation and transparency, such as improving the room booking process and improving the clarity of the funding criteria, as well as a lot more.

Due to COVID-19, the upcoming year will be challenging, both in terms of funding, as well as in terms of carrying out activities, which are important aspects for societies. I can assure you that the Societies’ Team and your Societies’ representatives will work extremely hard to ensure that societies are still running and benefitting the student community.

I look forward to working with all of you and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
