About the role:

Do you want to shape the future of BLSA? The Vice President London is one of the most senior student leaders for the BLSA and will give you the opportunity to plan well-known flagship events and community-building initiatives such as the Half-Way Ball and the Honours and Colours awards. You’ll also be able to lead the Activities Zone for BLSA, and you’ll work closely with the BLSA President and VP Barts.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Support, assist and provide feedback to the Vice President Barts and The London in their duties and responsibilities.
  • Lead the Activities Zone of the BLSA
  • Be responsible for the organisation of Barts and The London flagship events such as Fresher’s activities, Association Dinner, Half-Way Ball, Graduation Dinner and Rites of Passage.
  • Be responsible for the awarding of BLSA Blues and Colours and lead the Honours Committee.
  • Attend relevant meetings within the Students’ Union and the university (see list of compulsory meetings below)
  • Convene and co-ordinate the Barts and The London Half-Way Ball Committee.
  • Co-ordinate the Societies Officer (BL), Sports Officer (BL) and the Volunteering Officer (BL).
  • Attend relevant meetings, including meetings related to the operations of the BLSA
  • Be a member of funding committees, including the Association Fund Panel
  • Provide regular updates on your work to the students you represent

 

Meetings that I attend:
  • Student Council (2 hour meeting, five times a year
  • BLSA Board (2 hours, six times a year)
  • BLSA Monthly Meeting (1 hour, once a month)
  • Student President’s Council (1 hour, weekly/bi-weekly)
