Hello and welcome to Women’s Week!

My name is Sama and I am your Women’s Rep on Mile End Campus.

Women’s Week is a week to recognise and celebrate acts of determination of all the women in society who played extraordinary roles in their communities to fight for women rights.

To celebrate Women’s Week in Mile End this year, we will be showcasing the works of many influential women throughout history as well as submissions from students. From consent panel discussions to sports try-outs, we will also be hosting a Wellbeing Crafternoon in Drapers for a fun celebration of the big day - not to mention giving out amazing “BOSS” stickers! Please do drop by and we hope to see as many new faces as possible to celebrate this annual event.

My name is Alice and I am the Women’s Rep at Barts and The London.

This week is a great chance to celebrate the achievements of our wonderful women students, as well as opening discussion around the areas of healthcare and student life that we uniquely face.

This year, Women’s Week is supporting two amazing charities. Refuge is one of our RAG charities, which aims to protect women at children at risk of domestic violence. Any funds raised, from sales at Women’s Week Tables to money collected in our collection boxes will be donated to this wonderful cause. Secondly, we are collecting donations for Solace, a charity who run refuges for women fleeing violence and abuse. Keep your eyes peeled for the information regarding donations- the donation box is in the BLSA Office and there are RAG Points on offer to the student group who donates the most!

I hope to see you at as many events as possible, and happy International Women’s Day!
