Disability and Dyslexia Service

The Disability and Dyslexia Service (DDS) offers support for all Queen Mary students with disabilities, specific learning difficulties and mental health issues at Queen Mary. They offer advice and guidance for a number of areas such as dyslexia testing, disabled student allowance, examination arrangements, and provides special one to one tuition and support workers.

Language Centre

The Language Centre offers an excellent range of courses to help develop your English language skills. You will cover topics such as lecture note taking, report writing etc. Courses include Professional English and Insessional English.

Learning Development

During your time at Queen Mary, the Learning Development team will provide you with a range of activities and resources to help you such as a drop-In Study Centre (DISC) for Maths and Science subjects, Communication, Language and Study Guidance as well as one to one tutorials with published writers.

The University offers support for students who rent off-campus private sector accommodation. They can check tenancy agreements, provide advice with any housing issue and assist students with finding accommodation.

The School of Law runs a free Legal Advice Centre which is open to the public, University staff and students. The Centre aims to offer a reliable service to those with legal difficulties. The advice is provided by students of the School of Law, and supported by legal professionals.

Student Health Service

The Student Health Service on campus is NHS run and is available if you live in a halls of residence, or off campus but within Tower Hamlets. You can see a doctor or a nurse there every weekday during term time. It is advisable to register as soon as you start your studies.
