Student Media Awards

The Student Group Awards recognise the dedication and achievements of QMSU’s societies and student media groups, this is a chance to nominate your own or another student media group for them to get recognised for their hard work throughout the year! The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on Friday 27th March - save the date!

Please read all available award categories carefully and submit your nominations by Monday 2nd March 2026 (9am) to be considered for an award.

After the nomination period closes, the Student Engagement team will go through the nominations, make a shortlist, and pick one winner per category alongside the SU executive officers. The shortlist and winners will be announced at the ceremony.




Student Media Awards

Celebrating the Student Media outlets that represents the Queen Mary student voices through engaging journalism and innovative story telling.

Outlet of the Year
Criteria

Awarded to a Student Media Outlet that has provided a wide range of opportunities for members to gain media skills and experience, while building a strong sense of community within their outlet. The outlet will have also regularly informed and entertained the Queen Mary community to a high standard over the course of the year.

Contributor of the Year
Criteria

Awarded to an individual who has gone above and beyond in their role for their Student Media outlet. They will have made a particularly outstanding contribution to Student Media throughout the academic year.

Feature of the Year
Criteria

Awarded to an individual or group of individuals who have written or produced a particularly notable piece of content in any media format.
