🍻 Freshers Opening Night: Historical Pub Crawl 🍻
Join the Labour Society for a fun, social evening exploring the radical history of East London! Starting at The Ground at 6pm, we’ll make our way through historic East End pubs and neighbourhoods, uncovering stories of socialism, trade unionism, workers’ struggles, migration and community organising along the way.
From Clement Attlee and the origins of his socialist politics to the Matchgirls’ Strike and the power of collective action, discover the people and movements that helped shape Labour history — all while meeting fellow students, enjoying a drink and having a great night out.
We’ll kick things off with a short introduction to the Labour Society, what we do and what’s coming up this year, before heading off on our historical crawl.
