Mock Prime Ministers' Questions

About this event

Delivered by the Conservative Society, Labour Society and Model United Nations Society

Welcome to Mock Prime Ministers' Questions! We'll be taking to the David Sizer Lecture Theatre on Wednesday 23rd September at 18:00 to simulate the main public attraction the House of Commons has.

You'll be assigned a random Member of Parliament (with party/individual preferences taken into account)- it could be anybody, from a member of the Cabinet to an opposition backbencher- and tasked with scrutinising the Prime Minister and their Government. Your question could be about anything at all, as is the magic of PMQs: it's on the Prime Minister to stay on their toes and be ready for anything!

You're encouraged to do some light research, especially if you're interested in being Andy Burnham himself for this event- it's important you know what's currently going on, and what a realistic question might look like.

Should time permit, we'll move onto an open parliamentary debate on drilling in the North Sea. We'll be providing a bite-sized study guide so you're up to date with what's what, but unlike PMQs, any Member can raise any point, statement, or topic, and debates between individual members will be tolerated.

Overall, we're super excited to run what should be a very fun debate. Think you've got what it takes to join Parliament? Prove it- Join us at the David Sizer LT this Wednesday!
