Join us for the first session of our Women in Surgery teaching series, designed to make the surgical career pathway a little less confusing and much more accessible.

We’ll take you through the journey from medical school to surgical training, covering what you can start doing now, how to gain relevant experience, and what actually matters when building your portfolio.

We’ll break down Core Surgical Training, including what the application involves, the different portfolio requirements, and how to start preparing without feeling like you need to have everything figured out years in advance.

Whether you’re in your first year of medical school, approaching graduation, already thinking about surgical training, or simply curious about what a career in surgery looks like, there will be something for you.

The session will be followed by an interactive Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and hear about the experiences of people who have been through the process themselves.

Everyone is welcome, including all genders. You do not need to be committed to a career in surgery to attend. If you’re interested, curious, or just want to understand how it all works, come along!
