Basic Trauma Teaching Series

Join Barts and The London Orthopaedic Society for our Basic Trauma Teaching Series – a four-part teaching programme designed to equip medical students with essential clinical, practical and research skills relevant to trauma surgery.

Across four interactive sessions, you'll have the opportunity to:

Major Incident Triage: Learn how to assess and prioritise casualties during a major incident, using real-life trauma scenarios to develop your clinical decision-making skills.

Trauma Research: Discover how to get involved in trauma research, develop research ideas and build your academic portfolio.

Venepuncture & Cannulation: Develop essential clinical skills through supervised, hands-on practice.

Scrubbing into Theatre: Learn the principles of surgical hand scrubbing, gowning, gloving and maintaining a sterile field, helping you feel more confident in theatre.

📍 Location: Barts and The London, Whitechapel Campus. Exact room details will be shared with attendees.

📅 Dates: 18th November, 25th November, 2nd December and 9th December 2026.

🎟️ Tickets: Tickets can be purchased through this booking page.

Whether you're interested in surgery, emergency medicine, research or simply want to build your clinical skills, this series offers a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience beyond the medical school curriculum.
