Charles Dickens Christmas Carol Walking Tour

Friday 03 December 2021, 6:30pm - 8:30pm

About this event

The tour begins in City of London surrounded by the Bank of England, the Royal Exchange and the Mansion House all looking festive in Christmas Lights. Your guide will give a brief explanation on how Dickens came up with the idea of the Christmas Carol book, how it put forward many ideas of how Christmas should be celebrated and how several customs which first appeared in the book survive until today!

We will then head off into London exploring Victorian passageways, church towers, gated graveyards, alleyways, pubs, markets and Christmas trees which all provided inspiration for one of the world’s most famous books.
