Welcome Event (Free)
Wednesday 16 January 2019 6pm - 8pm
Eng 2.16, Queen Mary, University of London, Mile End Campus
The QM Audio Technology society welcomes you to it's inaugural event as it welcomes new members and introduces them to some of the plans we have in store for future events. We will also be showcasing just some of the existing work in the world of audio, courtesy of the Centre for Digital Music (C4DM), based within Queen Mary itself.
We'll be opening the event with short talks from two senior lecturers within the university who are involved in a number of successful and cutting edge research projects.
Professor Joshua Reiss - Intelligent Systems for Sound Design & Audio Production
Dr. Andrew McPherson - Augmented Instruments, Touchkeys, Bela
We will also be providing pizza and further information for attendees wishing to join as members and become a part of the Audio Technology Society and the projects we hope to get underway for 2019 and catch all the other talks and events we'll be hosting throughout.
Whether you are a musician who wishes to unpack the fundamental concepts of how sound works and wishes to take a hands on and technological approach, or an engineer or computer scientist who wants to explore these principles through the scope of audio engineering and development, we welcome members from all backgrounds who are interested.
