About the Graduation Fund
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, QMUL has postponed all 2020 summer graduations. You can find more information and updates about this on the University's website here.
The Students’ Union’s Graduation Fund exists to assist students from lower income backgrounds with the costs of graduation. Students can apply for funding to cover the cost of graduation robe and cap hire. The fund predominately seeks to assist those students who are independent students, parents, carers and students from lower income backgrounds, and those who have run into financial hardship and we encourage applications from students belonging to the above categories.
The application process
Due to an extremely high volume of applications, we cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive funding, however we aim to support as many students as possible with the cost of graduation and will continue to work with the University to reduce the cost of graduating. We therefore ask that you provide as much contextual information as possible on your application.
Successful applicants will be informed within one week. If your application has been successful, when you book your gown and cap hire you must select the option to pay by cheque. The Students' Union will then pay the fee on your behalf.
Applications to the Graduation Fund are anonymised and all decisions are made by the Vice President Welfare.
