Queen Mary Students’ Union is a democratic membership organisation that is the voice of all Queen Mary students. The Students' Union ensures that the University and the wider community are listening to what students want and works to improve students’ lives.

The Students’ Union has around 150 student staff working across the Mile End, Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square campuses in many different commercial outlets and departments. Our student staff are the focal point of the organisation, and they play a key part in delivering an excellent service to all our members!

How do I apply?

A full list of current opportunities will be listed below under Job Listings.

To apply for a role, you will need to click on the application form link for the job you are interested in applying to. You'll then be asked to log in to the QMSU website so you need to create an account or sign in with your student account.

Once logged in, you can start to complete the online application form. You'll be able to save the application form and come back to it but once it's submitted you will not be able to make any changes. Once the deadline has closed you will not be able to submit an application, so do make sure you submit before the deadline.

Location of jobs: Student staff roles are based in our outlets, offices and beyond! Locations include the Mile End, Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square Campuses.

    • Qmotion Receptionist

      Salary:  £27,340 - £29,254 per annum (Pro Rata)

      Details:We are seeking two part-time receptionist to work at our busy Sport and Fitness Centre based on the Mile End campus of Queen Mary University Of London, who is capable of exceeding member expectations on a daily basis, whilst ensuring the reception area and the activities within it are promoted and run to a high standard. You must have a high level of professionalism and be innovative and passionate in looking to deliver the highest?levels of customer service.

      Details:We are looking for someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude, and who is capable of growing with us along this exciting journey. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and a keen eye for detail, as well as being committed to the values of the organisation, being a safe, friendly and student led democratic organisation. Applicants would primarily need to be able to act in an operational capacity on a day-to-day basis but should also have the ability to open and close the shops when needed.

      Details:We have two liberation intern roles to support student engagement with our liberation work. We have recently adjusted the way our liberation work is run, encouraging a more flexible approach to increase the amount of liberation work we can do. This is a really exciting opportunity for two students to support a variety of liberation activity and work.       Details:Are you friendly and engaging, with an accurate and detail focused approach to your work? We are looking for part-time Retail Assistants to help with the day-to-day running of the shops on the Mile End campus. You will need to be an excellent team player, have great communication skills, with the ability to work flexibly and effectively. You will be required to help to ensure the outlet is running smoothly and fully operational at the scheduled times and deliver exceptional customer service.
