Queen Mary Students’ Union is a democratic membership organisation that is the voice of all Queen Mary students. The Students' Union ensures that the University and the wider community are listening to what students want and works to improve students’ lives.

The Students’ Union has around 150 student staff working across the Mile End, Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square campuses in many different commercial outlets and departments. Our student staff are the focal point of the organisation, and they play a key part in delivering an excellent service to all our members!

How do I apply?

A full list of current opportunities will be listed below under Job Listings.

To apply for a role, you will need to click on the application form link for the job you are interested in applying to. You'll then be asked to log in to the QMSU website so you need to create an account or sign in with your student account.

Once logged in, you can start to complete the online application form. You'll be able to save the application form and come back to it but once it's submitted you will not be able to make any changes. Once the deadline has closed you will not be able to submit an application, so do make sure you submit before the deadline.

Location of jobs: Student staff roles are based in our outlets, offices and beyond! Locations include the Mile End, Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square Campuses.

      Salary:  £14.98 per hour (plus 19.27% holiday pay)

      Details:We're actively recruiting QMUL students to work as fitness instructors at your Students' Union’s Sport and Fitness Centre. If you are highly motivated and have a passion for health and fitness, you are encouraged to apply for this exciting opportunity. No previous experience required; all we ask for is the right attitude. Successful applicants will receive a subsidy towards a fully nationally recognized fitness trainer qualification and comprehensive in-house training!

      Details:Are you friendly and engaging, with an accurate and detail focused approach to your work? If so, we are looking for part-time Retail Assistants to help with the day-to-day running of the shops on the Mile End campus. You'll need to be an excellent team player, have great communication skills, with the ability to work flexibly and effectively. You will be required to help to ensure the outlet is running smoothly, fully operational at the scheduled times, and providing excellent customer service.

      Role type: Student
