The Students' Union has a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong catering background in a similar role to join our team as Griff Inn Venue Chef. Working within our Venues and Events team the successful individual will be based in Whitechapel Campus at the Griff Inn Bar and Kitchen but may be required to work at other QMUL sites. The venues chef will lead on food operation and delivery of the Griff Inns standard and hospitality menu, ensuring that the highest possible standards are met and adhered to at all times during a term time basis.

It is expected that the successful applicant will play an active role in running the food operation, lead and develop menu discussions and play a lead role in ensuring first class stock control and food service delivery at all times. The Griff Inn Venues Chef will fulfil this hands on role working alongside a team of student kitchen staff and provide guidance, training and mentoring to this team.

Applicants should have a good understanding of food preparation, kitchen practises and possess and firm knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH and HACCAP procedures.¿

The post is term time only (pro rata).  Salary will be £20,482 – £25, 070 per annum and is inclusive of London allowance.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006 . Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
