England moves to Step 2 of the government's Covid-19 roadmap out of lockdown on Monday 12th April. With the easing of restrictions, we are re-opening some of our spaces and extending the opening hours of others that are already open. Read on to find out more!
Despite the easing of restrictions, we know these continue to be difficult and frustrating times for everyone. We know your University experience has not been what you might have wanted or expected this year and know that many of you continue to face your own challenges in your personal lives. As your Students' Union, we will continue to do the best we can to support you. If you need support you can find resources and information about support services available to you on our Advice & Support website. For ideas on how to look after both your physical and mental health you can also check out our Be Kind campaign page. Study Well will also re-launch on Monday 12th April to support you during the upcoming exam and assessment period through activities, events and resources.
We continue to listen to your feedback, and use this in our planning for activities and events and when meeting with the University to discuss education and welfare issues affecting students. Please continue to share your feedback via your elected representatives and Course Reps or contact us on social media @QMSU or via email.

What we're doing to keep you safe on campus
We’ve put together a handy video to let you know what we’ll be doing in our spaces to keep you safe. You can watch it here.
The safety of you, our student staff and full-time staff team is our number one priority. As you’ll know everything in our lives feels and seems a bit different right now, and this is the same for all our spaces on our campuses. We’ve worked hard though to make sure everything is in place to keep you safe. When you visit our spaces or on campus events you'll find;
- Hand sanitiser stations throughout our spaces
- Helpful and clear signage that explains how our spaces operate and any rules you need to follow when using them.
- Social distancing floor markings to remind us to keep our distance from each other.
- One-way systems in some areas.
- Enhanced cleaning, with additional cleaning of our spaces taking place throughout the day, with deep cleaning taking place prior to opening and after closing each day.
- Mobile ordering online for food and drink in The Griff Inn.
- Contactless payments preferred across all our spaces.
Look out for.....
Re-launching on Monday 12th April with a programme of activities, events and online resources to help you study well and take a break from your studies during the busy assessment and exam period. Further information can be found on our Study Well page.
We know many of you are still keen to connect with others and meet new people at Queen Mary, whether that's people to take a break with, study with or to find those who have similar interests and hobbies. That's why we've teamed up with the Umii app so you can start connecting with other Queen Mary students. Find out more here.
