Graduation Fund

The Graduation Fund exists to support students who are facing financial hardship with the costs of graduation.

The Graduation Fund exists to support Queen Mary students who are facing financial hardship with the costs of graduation. The fund covers the cost of graduation cap and gown hire and is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The fund is currently open to students attending graduation ceremonies between Monday 10 and Friday 21 January 2022.

The fund primarily aims to support students who otherwise could not afford the cost of attending graduation. We particularly encourage applications from students not in contact with their family (estranged), students who are parents or carers, and students from lower income backgrounds.

If you have any questions about the fund, you can get in touch at su-representation@qmul.ac.uk.

The deadline for applying to the fund is Monday 4 October at 12 noon (UK time).

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept late applications, so please ensure you submit your application before the deadline. While we aim to support as many students as possible, we often receive a high volume of applications and cannot guarantee all applicants will receive funding.

How to apply
  1. To apply to the Graduation Fund you will need to complete the application form on this page by Monday 4 October at 12 noon.

  2. A panel composed of the Students' Union President, Vice President Welfare and Vice President HSS will consider applications.

  3. We will contact you by email with the outcome of your application by Monday 11 October.

  4. If your application is successful, we will send you instructions for how to book your cap and gown.

The deadline for applying to the fund is Monday 4 October at 12 noon (UK time).
