Queen Mary Independent Students Support Group

A space for students who are studying without family support to meet together, share experiences of university life and support each other. Provided by Advice and Counselling.


Are you care experienced or estranged from family and studying without family support? Do you feel that others struggle to understand your situation? Do you feel independent yet also isolated at times? Do practical and/or emotional issues sometimes affect your studies? Do you try to manage everything on your own? Would you like a safe space where you can talk to others with similar experiences?

The Queen Mary Independent Students Support Group aims to provide a space for students who are studying without family support to meet together, share experiences of university life and support each other. The group is provided by the Queen Mary Advice and Counselling Service. You can find more information here.

The provisional dates for the group are: 2 November to 14 December 2021 and 11 January to 8 February 2022 (every Tuesday).
