What do you want?

We would like the QMSU to introduce an anti-Semitism awareness month for the year 2020: this should be mandatory for the SU to conduct. This would in theory be similar to the Islamophobia Awareness month that is already in place. During the month events would be held to draw awareness to issues of anti-Semitism on campus and in the wider public.

Why do you want it?

Upon talking to Jewish students, it has come to my attention that many Jewish students feel issues affecting them are underrepresented on campus. In my opinion, anti-Semitic incidents have been, at times, poorly addressed by QMSU. I believe that many students are unaware of the scale and impact of anti-Semitism on campus.

What impact will this have?

Having this month will aid greatly in drawing attention to issues of anti-Semitism on campus. This will also make Jewish students feel more included and respected by QMSU.
