Dr. Catherine Silverstone, Head of the School of English and Drama tragically passed away on Sunday 4th October 2020. Here is a message from the Students' Union.
Recently, we were informed about the tragic passing of Catherine Silverstone, Head of School for English and Drama. She was beloved by students and staff and was always kind, considerate and a great mentor to all. Dr. Silverstone was also a great success in her field, and used her passion to help others achieve their goals. She was a committed teacher and outstanding doctoral supervisor, and her time as Head of School will be remembered by students and staff and those to come for its momentous impact on the entire university. In her career, she improved representation for LGBT+ through her work in queer and decolonial studies. She will be greatly missed by us all.
