Sports Awards 2017
On 1st April, QMSU hosted the Sports Awards 2017, recognising the achievements of participants in club sport, Get Active and community sport over the course of the last year.
The black-tie event was hosted at the 4* Grange City Hotel in the heart of the City of London, and guests were greeted with a welcome drink and a chance to get their pictures taken in the photography area before being served a three course meal before the awards commenced.
Sport is a big part of many students’ lives at Queen Mary, and it is a pivotal part of our student experience and sense of community here. Students involved in sport at QM also frequently go out into the community to help local people and children get involved with sports such as hockey, football and rugby, meaning many Queen Mary students are actively benefiting the local community in Tower Hamlets and beyond.
It was great to see so many people being rewarded for the hard work and determination they have shown all year.
