Sustainability Week 2023

The Students' Union and University have worked together to bring you our annual Sustainability Week, from 13-17 November, in the lead-up to COP-28! Get involved with our allotment sessions, canal cleans, learn from a conservation doctor, find out how your skills can get you into a green job and even give you wardrobe a sustainable refresh! Also don't forget our special deals in our outlets that run all year round too! Get 50p off all hot drinks in Ground Cafe, Union Shop and Village Shop when you bring your own re-usable cup. Plus, if you buy one of our re-usable cups in our outlets, we'll give you a free drink too. Monday 13 November 

• 10am-1pm - Taking Photos with Plants - It's Chemistry!

• 10:30am-11:30am – Energy and Carbon at QM – Plant Room Tour  

• 2:30am-3:30pm- Materials Recovery Facility Tour Bywaters 

Tuesday 14 November 

• 10am-1pm – Allotment Session   

• 3pm-5:30pm – Wardrobe Refresh Fair  

• 5pm-7pm - Yarn from plastic bags with Knit and Knatter Society  

Wednesday 15 November

• 10am-1pm – Allotment Session  

• 1pm-3pm – Action for Sustainability in the Curriculum  

Thursday 16 November 

• 1pm – 2:15pm – Sustainable Careers Skills Session  

• 2pm-4pm – Litter Pick Scavenger Hunt  

• 3:30pm– 5pm – Eco Medics – Creating Impactful Change in the NHS  

• 6:30pm-8pm – Sustain@BL - 'Living the Change' Screening

Friday 17 November 

• 10am-11:30am – How to give your course a sustainability power-up 

• Noon-2pm – Big Green Canal Clean  

• 3pm-4:30pm – Zero Waste – Cook More with Less Competition (please email the University's Zero Waste Shop: zerowasteshop@qmul.ac.uk to take part!)
