We're opening up the conversation about mental health, share tips and advice and point to help and support you can access.
On Friday it was World Mental Health Day.
This year's theme is 'access to services - mental health in catastrophes and emergencies'. The theme highlights the importance of people being able to protect their mental health in times of global instability.
We're opening up the conversation and taking the opportunity to talk about mental health, share tips and advice and let you know what help and support we have on, and off, campus for you.
The day is a reminder to focus on you and the others around you who might need help, and reach out for suppport if you need it. Doing the things you love can be a great way to heal, take your mind off things and take the break you need. There are many ways to improve wellbeing and finding what works for you is important.
We asked YOU for top tips on our Instagram and you said...
- Walk
- Journaling helped me through very tough times. Also, forcing yourself to go out helps
- Call a friend
- Journaling, walking, a fixed sleep schedule, talking to friends/family
- Stay connected to nature. Notice the seasons change and appreciate what surrounds you!
- GO. TO. ADVICE. AND. COUNSELLING. WHEN. YOU. NEED. TO!
- Volunteering and giving back to the community
- Don't forget you're not alone in what you feel, your peers can relate, so don't stress too much
- Create - painting, music, dance, poetry. Experience what flows from within.
- Work hard
- Slow down. Sometimes you may feel messy in life but just relax, reflect how far you've come.
