Hi! My name is Aleksandra and I’m your Volunteering Officer for 2020/21. I’m a third-year Biomedical Sciences student, and since my first year at Queen Mary, I’ve been involved with the Aspire volunteering group for which I was the President in the last academic year. This and my other volunteering experiences in the past have shown me how easy and important it is to get involved with the local community. My involvement with the local primary schools for these past two years has given me a very rewarding and fun way to spend my free time while also helping others and spreading awareness about Paralympic games among young people. Thus, for my year in the office, I would like to make sure more people hear about the opportunities offered by the SU, as well as I'd like to run campaigns to help people understand the types of volunteering opportunities offered and how to get involved. In general, I will promote volunteering, show its benefits, and most importantly listen to what you have to say and implement the feedback.
