What is ‘Zero Tolerance’?

At Queen Mary Students’ Union we will never tolerate, condone or ignore bullying, harassment or hate crime of any kind. All students and staff at Queen Mary and Queen Mary Students’ Union have a collective responsibility to encourage a culture of dignity and respect; to treat others fairly, with courtesy and consideration; and to challenge inappropriate behaviour.

Any allegation of harassment, sexual harassment, hate crime, bullying or victimisation will be treated seriously, regardless of the seniority of those involved, and any student found to have behaved unacceptably may be the subject of disciplinary action up to and including expulsion.

If you’ve ever experienced an incidence of bullying, sexual assault, harassment or hate crime, you can find links to access support and information on how and where to report the incident. You can also find out more about Zero Tolerance at Queen Mary, get involved with our ‘Change the Culture’ campaign, and information on how to access training and resources.
