Part-time Voluntary Alongside your studies

If you study medicine, dentistry or another subject within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, this role is for you. In this role, you’ll be the voice of all students within Barts and The London, and you’ll work closely with the Course Reps and the BLSA Board. The role includes things like the academic experience, support services and student community within Barts and The London.

Who can run? All students studying within Barts and The London (Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry) can run. The only requirement is that you must be a student in the academic year 2026/27.

The Candidates

Tom Johnson

BL rep is a new role on the Student Reps Council. Using my experiences from the BLSA; multiple societies and sports committees; and the societies board, I will further BL interests at the highest level in QMSU. I aim to improve our spaces, SU communication, and to preserve our identity.

Shoaib Shahbaz

As a 3rd-year student in clinical years at Barts, I understand the challenges students face across both pre-clinical and clinical years. Having previously served in leadership positions, I have experience representing student voices. I am committed to listening to students, raising concerns, and helping improve their overall experience at Barts.
