Allied Courses Representative

The Allied Health Representative (Barts and The London) shall seek feedback from and represent non-clinical, Allied course’s students on their campus. They are also responsible for supporting the Vice President Education and the Vice President Barts and the London, and encouraging the students they represent to participate and engage with the Students’ Union.

The Alumni Officer shall work to foster relationships with Barts and The London graduates; be responsible for liaising with the Barts & The London Alumni Trust; be responsible for a record of Barts and The London graduates; regularly update Barts and the London graduates with events and activities and develop relationships between Barts and The London sports clubs and societies and Barts and The London graduates.

The President is responsible for conducting the affairs of the Gozo Society, setting the direction of the society, according to the constitution of the Gozo Society. The President will also sit on the BLSA Board to ensure BLSA is representing students on the Gozo Campus.

President

The President represents and campaigns on matters relating directly to the education and welfare of students across Queen Mary. They are responsible for implementing many of the Union's policies and work hard to improve students' educational experience. They chair the Union's Board of Trustees and Executive Committee and attend a wide range of College Meetings. The President is the Union's ex-official delegate to NUS National Conference.

Within the Student Union’s fast-paced, exciting and diverse environment, you’ll have the freedom to oversee a wide variety of projects and play a key part in shaping the Queen Mary Students’ Union.  

The President is the key spokesperson for the SU. You’ll represent and campaign on matters relating directly to the education and welfare of students across Queen Mary University of London. You’ll be responsible for shaping and implementing many of the Students’ Union's policies, projects and campaigns, consulting with students to represent their views and act on issues affecting them. You’ll also chair Students’ Union's Board of Trustees and Executive Committee, overseeing financial, legal and strategic tasks.

RAG Officer (BL)

The RAG Officer (Barts and the London) shall create a positive charitable influence on campus. They’ll select and chair a committee of people throughout the year whose purpose is to choose the RAG charity for their year and find innovative, exciting ways to fundraise for this charity. The officer will also work alongside the Student Activities Coordinator to support affiliated student groups in their fundraising and host challenges for individual students.

Student Council Chair

The Student Council Chair shall be the Chair of Student Council, the Annual Members' Meeting and the Company Law General Meetings. They are responsible for ensuring Student Council meetings are held in accordance with the Articles of Association, Bye-Laws and Policy.

Student Media Officer

The Student Media Officer shall represent the interests of the Union’s student media and be the voice of its members. They shall convene and coordinate regular meetings between the Managing Editors and assist in the delivery of training. They shall also work to actively develop the Union’s student media outlets.

Student Trustee (2 places)

Student Trustees are students who actively participate in the Trustee board and make strategic decisions on behalf of Queen Mary students, whilst remaining on their respective courses. The most important element of the Trustee Board's responsibilities is to ensure that procedures and regulations of the student union's activities are rigorous.

Sustainability Officer (Mile End)

The Sustainability Officer represents the interests of students at the Union on issues relating to the environment and sustainability. They will be working alongside relevant members of the Union staff, including QMSU President, with events, training and campaigns relating to the Union's sustainability and environmental issues.

Vice President Humanities and Social Science

The Vice President Education represents students and campaigns on matters relating directly to students’ education such as teaching quality, library provision and feedback. They are responsible for implementing many of the Union's education policies and work closely with Course Reps to improve students' educational experience. They chair the Education Zone committee and attend a wide range of college meetings.

The Vice President Welfare represents students and campaigns on matters relating to access to education, such as public transport and student finance, equality of opportunity and student welfare. They represent students in the local community to local councils, police and other local organisations. They are responsible for implementing many of the Union's welfare policies and chair the Welfare Zone committee and attend relevant college meetings.
