Training

We know that Skills Award participants all have different interests and career plans, so we organise a varied programme of training sessions to suit your needs.

Scroll down for our upcoming sessions for the 2025/26 programme. Please note that some sessions are only offered once per academic year, and spaces on sessions are limited, so sign up early to avoid disappointment.

If you are looking to achieve a Skills Award at the end of the year and hold a Students' Union role, please make sure to sign up to a Reflection Session. Attending a Reflection Session is one of the three requirements of completing your Award. You can read more about these requirements in our "How do I take part?" section.

Before signing up for any training sessions, please register using the form on the Skills Award home page.

Cancellation Policy

All training sessions have a limited capacity and incur costs for the Students’ Union, so we need to operate a strict cancellation policy:

  • If you have signed up for a session and can no longer attend, you must cancel your booking at least 48 hours before the beginning of the session
  • You can email us about extenuating circumstances at su-employability@qmul.ac.uk
  • If you are absent for a session you’ve signed up for without emailing us about an extenuating circumstance twice, you will not be able to engage with any more sessions.

If you are aiming for the Bronze, Silver, or Gold Skills Award, you need to complete the requirements for the by 31st May 2026, including all role requirements and role-specific training.
