Clubs and SocietiesSU Wins

The Queen Mary Salsa Society competed and secured a place at the biggest UK latin dance intervarsity competition at Birmingham hosted by Dance Club Latino, University of Birmingham’s Salsa Society. Our team has been committed to performing well at the competition from September, practicing every week and arranging many 4-5 hour bootcamps to make this happen. 3 weeks before the competition, the team faced a real challenge when two of the team members were unable to continue. A huge shoutout to the two members that joined the team in their place and learnt a detaied choreography in a very short period of time. This win means a lot to the team as their hard efforts paid off and were able to positively represent this society and university!

A special mention to the team coach, Andre Maingot, a professional dancer in the field, for his patience and incredible support. His beautiful choreography lit up the room, and helped the team succeed at the competition.

Congratulations to every member of the team that made this big win possible, all of you have made us very proud!
