Disabled and SLD Representative (ME)

The Disabled and SLD (Specific Learning Disability) Representative (Mile End) shall represent the interests and be the voice of Mile End students with disabilities on issues they face. They are also responsible for supporting the Vice President Welfare, coordinating and convening the Students’ Union's Students with Disabilities Group, liaising with members of the relevant clubs, societies and student groups and encouraging more students with disabilities to participate and engage with the Students’ Union. They are also the Students’ Union's delegate to NUS Disabled Students' Conference.

As someone with a Specific Learning Difficulty I know how important it is for people with disabilities to have a voice. I understand that needs can be nuanced and personal so as your representative I will be approachable and committed, holding the university to account to make practical solutions.
