Our Impact in 2019/20

Highlighting the impact of our students in the local community last year

Leadership Academy

Our Leadership Academy is the pathway for students to develop as coaches, mentors and officials whilst benefitting from our rewards package in return for their outreach facilitating sport and physical activity in the local community. Below are some key figures from the previous academic year:

  • 100 student leaders developed on the programme.

  • Over 1,615 hours of sport logged in the community.   

  • Engaged a participant throughput of over 12,504 in the local community.

Social Cohesion Sport

We launched this pilot programme to provide a platform for student groups to use sport as a vehicle to raise awareness of issues in the local community through the delivery of their own financially sustainable projects:

  • 7 projects delivered by 8 student groups that consisted of 66 student leaders in total.

  • Engaged a participant throughput of over 1,767 in the local community.

Young Leaders Academy

This year we launched a Young Leaders Academy to develop a workforce of future leaders from local schools and colleges whilst bridging the gap between further and higher education.

  • 11 Young Leaders accepted onto the academy for the pilot year.

  •  Engaged a participant throughput of over 1,421 in the local community.
