Find out what your Exec Officers have been up to over the past few weeks.

It’s been another busy few weeks for your Executive Officers, with some special visitors to campus, community projects, student sport and plenty of work happening behind the scenes. Here’s what the team have been up to!
One of the biggest highlights was the Exec getting to meet Bill Gates during his visit to Queen Mary. Shakshi captured the occasion in a Reel, which is now up on her Instagram, and Ashpreet has also been working on social media content to share the moment with the wider QMSU community. It's not every day you get to meet Bill Gates!
There’s also plenty happening on the events front. Shakshi has been working on plans for a Diwali celebration, currently scheduled for 9 November. Meanwhile, Ashpreet helped promote the Sunset and Strengths event.
Ashpreet has also been making progress on her projects. Her library project is still in its early stages, but she's already received some useful feedback from students. One commuter student shared that they'd like to see more 24-hour study spaces on campus, highlighting an important area to explore further. She's also been developing her work around women's wellbeing and making progress on her guarantor project, which has received the go-ahead to be raised at the Residential Strategy Group. Ashpreet has been working with colleagues to prepare how the proposal will be presented and taken forward.
Pradhuman has been getting out and about meeting students in university residences, as well as making the most of opportunities to get involved in student activities. He's been playing in the QMSU Social Leagues cricket competition, enjoying the chance to meet and play alongside other students. His team even picked up a win in their latest match! He's also been making the most of QMSU's Perks app at Ground Café, where buying nine coffees gets you the tenth free. His current recommendation? A black coffee.
Riley has been busy both on and off campus. He volunteered at the Canal Clean, helping remove rubbish from the local area. The team collected eight bags in total, including some rather unusual finds! He also attended Senate alongside Pradhuman and Vish, making sure students are represented in important university discussions. Alongside this, Riley has been involved in a number of meetings focused on AI and the commuter student experience, continuing to bring student perspectives into these conversations.
From meeting world-famous visitors to making a difference in the local community, there's plenty happening across the Exec team. Keep an eye out for more updates as their projects develop and new events and opportunities take shape.
Every two weeks, our Exec Officers will also complete an accountability survey, so you can see exactly which meetings they’ve attended, what actions they’ve taken and what they’re working on next.
