Our last goodbye to the Village Shop
Thank you for 22 wonderful years! Whilst we're sad to say goodbye, every ending makes way for something new....
There are some places on campus that quietly become part of student life at Queen Mary. The Students' Union Village Shop has been one of them.
Since opening in 2004, it's been at the heart of the Queen Mary community. For many it was the first place people visited on campus when moving into halls and has always been there for the early morning breakfast stop before lectures, the last-minute meal deal, the emergency stationery, the late-night snacks...and all those little moments in between.
For thousands of students, staff and alumni, it's never just been a shop. It's been part of Queen Mary. That's why we're a little sad to say that Friday 31 July will be the day Village Shop closes its doors for the last time.
Most importantly, we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has worked in the Village Shop over the past 22 years. From generations of student staff balancing shifts with lectures to our permanent team who kept everything running day after day, thank you for the smiles, conversations, hard work and dedication that made the Village Shop so much more than just a convenience store. You helped create a welcoming space that became a small but memorable part of life at Queen Mary for thousands of people.
Here's to the memories we've made, and to the exciting new ones still to come.....

Every ending makes way for something new...
While it's always difficult to say goodbye to something that's been such a familiar part of campus life, we're also incredibly excited about what's next. The Village Shop may be closing, but it's making way for something brand new from the Students' Union that we think you'll love.
