Volunteering Board

The Volunteering Board is a committee that looks at issues affecting students involved with the following volunteering activities: Give Volunteering a Go, brokerage volunteering, volunteering groups. The Board is a subcommittee of Student Council, which means that it reports back to Student Council and also reports to the Students’ Union Development Group.

The Volunteering Board discuss issues relating to volunteering, develop and help steer the volunteering service, award grant funding and affiliate new volunteering groups and pass policies.

The Board usually meets 4 times per year, and the next meeting will be held in Dec/Jan (date TBC). The meeting will take place online. If you would like to attend a meeting of the Volunteering Board, you can contact the Chair: Barts and The London Volunteering Officer or Mile End Volunteering Officer.


Raise an issue

If you’re a student and you have an issue you would like the Board to consider, you can submit a motion to the Board. Please use this form to submit your motion. The Students’ Union Representation and Democracy Team can provide guidance if you are unsure how to write your motion. Please contact the team on su-representation@qmul.ac.uk if you have a question or need guidance.


Membership

The Volunteering Board is co-chaired by the two Volunteering Officers. The members are:

All of the members of the Volunteering Board are current students that have been elected to represent student volunteers.

The Board meetings are formal meetings that follow an agenda, and the Secretary takes minutes of the meetings. The agendas will be published five working days before the meeting, and minutes will be published after they have been ratified.

Marrow Election

Marrow elections to chose the following committee positions for 2024/2025: President, Vice President, Welfare, Secretary, Social Media Representative, Donor Recruitment Coordinator, Fundraising Representative, Volunteering Coordinator, Social Representative. All members of the society who are students at QMUL in the academic year 2024/2025 are eligible to stand and vote.
