As part of the Students’ Union Wins for You campaign, Feel Good initiative is a platform for you to highlight positive achievements from your student group. Here’s how to participate:
- Submit your Feel Good story by filling in a quick submission form where you can share pictures or videos related to your story.
- We will process your submission within 7-10 working days, preparing the content for our @qmsusocieties page.
- Shared! We will tag you in our social media posts featuring your Feel Good story.
We accept submissions throughout the academic year and welcome contributions from all student groups and individual members, whether you’re on the committee or not.
Awards
Every year the Students’ Union hosts Awards to celebrate the hard work and achievements you do within your groups.
The student group awards have two types of awards:
- Honours Awards: Show us what your student group has done this year, based on our list of criteria to receive an Honours award, an accreditation scheme that recognises groups who represent the Students’ Union values. Each category can be won by multiple societies, with this type of award replacing the Trophy Awards from previous years,
- Student Group Awards: Have you excelled in a specific area? Put forward a nomination for one of our various student group awards (Volunteering, Media, and Society) and you could be in with a chance of receiving a general or category-specific award!
On a national level, there is the National Societies & Volunteering Awards (NSVAs) - in 2022 one of our groups were shortlisted for awards!

Liberation Badges
What is this?
In short we want to recognise you! We know how hard clubs and societies work, especially on Liberation, getting involved with our campaigns, running events and celebrating our diverse community! We have developed a new recognition system of a badge of recognition on your club/society page to note involvement in liberation work. This badge would be something to boost, chat and talk about, noting how your club/society welcomes and is inclusive of others! It also could translate into nominations for ‘Liberation Badge of the Year Award’ in our Liberation Award Ceremony at the end of the year!
How does my group get one?
In short: fill out our form! We will be making decisions termly (at the end of each term). But the form would be open throughout the term. This would be open to all Clubs and Societies.
We are looking for detail on the work you have done, giving us details on events or initiatives done. We are looking for evidence this has had an impact on the community or communities the campaign focuses on.
In your form, make sure it fulfils the criteria
- At least one event was organised for a Liberation Campaign
- There was a demonstrable positive impact on the community through the event/ events. This could be evidenced by
- Small post-it notes of the event with participants sharing their feeling
- A feedback form/ survey
- Quotes from participants from the event/ events
This is not an exhaustive list, we would be open to different evidence that demonstrates a positive impact to the community or communities.
When would we know?
All applications would be considered by our committee and then we would add the badges to the successful clubs/ societies homepages. And then you can shout all about it!
